Welcome back for semester 2, 2017! 

Stage Two describes all students in Years 3 and 4. This year we have four classes of Stage Two students: 

2/3H with Miss Hadwell

3/4S with Mrs Scott

3/4J with Ms Jones

4/5F with Miss Frazer

Students in these classes will participate in programs across the Key Learning Areas; English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, HSIE (History/ Geography), Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.

In Term 4, students will be studying a predominently Geography heavy unit. This learning sequence involves students investigating a neighbouring country to Australia nd comparing it to life in Australia. 

All classes will visit the library for an hour each week, where they will borrow and complete book studies with Mrs Pearce.

4/5F- Tuesday

Students will participate in FMS lessons with Mr Crawley. In these lessons students will develop Fundamental Movement Skills such as dance and movement. Please ensure students wear appropriate footwear on their PE day.

At the computer lab students will use the Mathletics and Reading Eggs programs to consolidate their learning in English and Mathematics. Students are able to access these programs online from home, using their username and password from school. They will also develop skills using word processing, Google applications, email and other online tools.

In Personal Development and Health, Stage Two are looking at cyber safety, which discusses the need for caution and safety and strategies for keeping them safe, while online.

Mathematics topics for this term are: Whole Number, Addition and Subtraction, Data, Length, Multiplication and Division, 3D Space, Fractions and Patterns and Algebra. Topics are explored using hands-on equipment, interactive games and written tasks.

In English, we are using the Daily 5 pedagodgy. This involves students working through the rotations of Read to Self, Word Work, Read to Someone, Work on Writing and Listen to Reading. These rotations incorporate spelling tasks, writing activities and guided reading groups.

2017 Production- The classes are working hard to perfect their performances, which are due to be completed in week 10.

Great Aussie Bush Camp -Thank you for those who have paid for stage 2 camp. The camp numbers are full. we arelooking forward to our time away
